"The Donkey's Alarm"
Once upon a time, there lived a washerman in a town. He had two loyal animals—a dog and a donkey. The dog kept watch over his house throughout the day, while the donkey carried the washermen's load to and from the riverside.
One fateful night, as the washerman slept soundly, a thief sneaked into his house. The dog, unfortunately, was fast asleep and didn't bark to alert anyone. However, the donkey, although away from the house, saw the thief and realized the danger.
In a bid to wake his master and raise an alarm, the donkey began to bray loudly. The sudden and loud braying startled the thief, who fled in fear.
The commotion awoke the washerman, who couldn't understand why the donkey was making so much noise. Annoyed, he came out and started beating the donkey with a stick. However, in doing so, the washerman unwittingly saved his house from being robbed by scaring the thief away.
Moral of the Story:
This story teaches us that sometimes, even seemingly inconvenient actions can turn out to be lifesaving. The donkey's loud braying, which initially annoyed the washerman, ended up protecting his home from theft. It reminds us that we shouldn't dismiss or underestimate the value of an action without understanding its true purpose or potential consequences.
