                         The Poisoned Dice 

 

Once upon a time in India, there lived a wealthy man who had a deep rooted addiction to gambling. Day and night, he would indulge in games of dice, seeking the thrill of chance. Along his relentless gambling journey, he encountered another man, equally consumed by the allure of gambling, but with a penchant for trickery.

The rich gambler was known for his honesty and straightforwardness, while the tricky gambler was infamous for his deceitful ways. When the tricky gambler found himself winning, he played on, reveling in his success. However, when the tides of fortune turned against him, he resorted to a crafty scheme. He would slyly slip one of the dice into his mouth, swallowing it discreetly, and then claim that the dice had been lost, abruptly ending the game.

The rich gambler soon caught wind of this clever ruse and decided it was time to teach his tricky friend a valuable lesson. His plan was simple yet cunning. He carefully coated the dice with a layer of invisible poison, letting it dry imperceptibly. The next time they sat down to play, he had his poison-laden dice ready.

As fate would have it, the tricky gambler's luck seemed boundless that day, and he reveled in one victory after another. But when his fortune finally took a downturn, he resorted to his usual tactic, swallowing one of the dice without a second thought, oblivious to the hidden danger.

As the poison took hold, the trickster's condition deteriorated rapidly, and he fell seriously ill. The rich gambler, deep down a good-hearted soul who had only sought to impart a lesson, realized that enough was enough. He knew he had to act swiftly to save his friend's life.

With urgency, he concocted a mixture of herbs and spices known to induce vomiting. He administered it to his suffering friend, who soon expelled the poison-laden dice. The tricky gambler was saved, and in that moment of crisis, he learned a profound lesson.

This tale reminds us that deception and betrayal, especially against friends, can have grave consequences. Lies, like poison, can inflict real harm in our lives and eventually catch up with us. Honesty and integrity, on the other hand, lead to a more peaceful and content existence, sparing us from the tangled web of deceit that drains our energy and distracts us from the true purpose of living a fulfilling life.
